I read an excerpt from the Helping Friendly Book, and bumped into the Sloth outside before night 2: “how was I to know that day that the winds had swept me Wilson’s way, ‘cause soon towards me from the east came Wilson and his men on multi-beasts.” #readthebook
(note: please report all sloth spottings to phourthdimension@gmail.com)
here’s the cactus on a moist green organic…lawnboy
and a fake over-face ticket some crack tried to sell me. (note: this polish is “Gamehendge Green”. holler at me on lot to get a bottle.)
happy new year’s eve day from Astoria
I spent the new year dancing through steam.
all I could ever want is for phish to levitate and jam into the new year.
and that’s precisely what they did. so, it was an exceptional new year for this gal.
the next morning I levitated to SFO (via JFK)
and decompressed in San Francisco. Goodbye Gamehendge Green.

Oh, delight… Phish in NEW YORK! Looking forward to spending another New Years at Madison Square Garden, the ultimate round room.
I’ve procured tickets for the first three nights, but am still fishing for a 12/31.If you happen across a spare, I’ll happily buy it for face value and throw in an additional $100 to a charity of your choice. Email me: phourthdimension at gmail dot com.
Stay tuned for details about Phish Yoga and pre and post show parties.
last night i checked out a phish cover band called Chum in san francisco… two thumbs up! especially enjoyed golden age and sand > 2001…and the mexican half-cousin.
scored a long sleeve SOAM tee. available in a variety of psychedelic splashes @ harryhood247’s store (berkeley, california).
regretfully, i wasn’t able to hop a day-glo bus from norcal to vermont and catch phish’s benefit show on wednesday. instead, my adventures brought me to san francisco’s misson district where i couch tour’d proper with other coastally-challenged phans at brick and mortar’s.
first set, foggy bright light beamed through the ceiling windows as more and more wooks employed phans arrived.
second set, things got lumpy. some hippie chads even got on stage and started dancing, without their shirts
the show was pretty “radio phish”, but i still would’ve killed to have been there, especially for a good cause. brick and mortar’s raised over $1,100 for the waterwheel foundation, and the show itself raised $1.2 million for vt flood relief. there’s still time to donate here. as always, enjoy these #2’s.

left san francisco thursday afternoon, headed for denver
landed safely and checked into the sheraton downtown.
a few minutes later we rickshawed to quixote’s
where i got uno’d, severus snape uno’d. #omens
this is how i looked felt after quixotes
the next morning i did some work in cabana 1 (pre-wook invasion, #longstory)
#pool #party
rickshawed to the beer store
and headed to the lot
caught a sunset over the turquoise mountains, my first llama (it was ferocious) #taboot
…and a fish i’d been eyeing all summer
passed out some flyers
actually, i exchanged flyers with the sloth before he got kicked out night 2 (rhombus in hand). we got into a discussion about whether or not tela dies. imo tela obviously dies:
“as Rutherford the brave chokes Tela and the unit monster managing to save the spotted striper’s multibeast and thereby cheat his grave…”
dick’s > toyota park #soccerstadiums
saw antelope greg, he had a nice summer tan.
and [almost] landed on the rail.
there were sparks
the ultimate yoyo… sweet adeline to sabotage encore!
…the tweezer snuck through the back door
whatever you do, don’t forget who the ghost really is…
thank you phish and thank you rocky mountains…see you all at yeMSG

made it home to san francisco and crossed the bay bridge. outside lands highlights: steam, tweezer, mound, life on mars, fluffhead, and mike’s groove.
outside lands was a whirlwind
my dear friend alli and i wandered through the festival grounds and stumbled across an enchanted forest…
with eucalpytus trees
it seemed like everyone was in san francisco.
mania proceeded and i have few photos to show for the show
except this sunlight dancing through [my first] steam. see you all in denver.

tapers weren’t allowed at OSL, so I don’t have AUDS to post. additionally, SBDs were not included with the OSL tickets. here is why:
ahhhh, lake tahoe. this is what early 90s shows are made of. upon entering, i felt like i was transported to a world where i didn’t have to worry about fighting antelope greg for space.
night 1 highlights: my first meat was as creepy as i’d hoped it would be. light got dark. my friend vinny hates this song (sometimes he will even sit down when it is being played) but we all agree that this version is the eel’s ankle. something happened during rocket man > hood > walls of the cave. fish absolutely crushed walls of the cave. all and all a STELLAR show, perhaps my favorite of leg 2.
night 2 highlights: bustout! dogs stole things, my first, brought a smooth approach to the evening distinguishing it from the previous night’s festive party time opener. i was excited to get a proper poor heart with barn sounds from fish (they were omitted at gorge), and what a ghost !
we took the scenic route up through the east side of the sierras.
took some deep breaths
jadoogan says: That looks like a chocolate Sunday. I approved
fueled up at a coyote-friendly gas station
and checked into the montbleu. the hallways were raging! #partytimeopener
“let it ride” on the bar slot machine. won $12. #tahoemantra
dropped into chris calarco’s ”surrender to the flow“ phish yoga class and had some epiphanies during savasana. i’m looking forward to another phish flow with chris next weekend in denver.
took a dip in the lake (it was warm warm warm) caught some rays, and built some castles from sand.
we walked over to the venue and caught a nice breeze blowing through shakedown
here’s the view from the lot #wookspecial
it seemed like troy was having a great time!
and same with that cactus character. in chronological order, here is is my approximate location each set; 2nd row fish side, 10th row page side, 10th row infront of trey, and the dance party @ page side rage of soundboard.
hood morning. we left the hotel at nine.
and stopped for brunch in the sierra nevadas at a house that was built in 1867. ***note: this tshirt supports mike’s footbell revolution. if you need a refresher please follow this link, this link, and especially this link. if you want a shirt email me and i’ll put you in touch with mr. rusty.
a dozen pancakes later, we headed back to san francisco to meet several friends flying in from all over just to see phish play in golden gate park.
SET 1: Party Time, The Oh Kee Pa Ceremony > AC/DC Bag > Mellow Mood, Rift, Punch You In the Eye > Meat, David Bowie, Bouncing Around the Room, Horn, Water in the Sky > 46 Days
SET 2: Gotta Jibboo > Light > Chalk Dust Torture > Slave to the Traffic Light > Free, Rocket Man > Harry Hood > Walls of the Cave
Encore: Bug > Squirming Coil
NIGHT 2 8.10.11 HARVEY’S AT LAKE TAHOE (set 1: download link, set 2: download link…again many thanks to padelimike)
SET 1: Dogs Stole Things, Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan, Poor Heart*, Alaska, Halley’s Comet > It’s Ice > When the Circus Comes, Ya Mar, Stash, Funky Bitch, Instant Karma! > Run Like an Antelope
Set 2: Down with Disease > Runaway Jim > Ghost > Golden Age > Also Sprach Zarathustra > Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley, Guyute, Wading in the Velvet Sea, You Enjoy Myself
highlights: flubs aside, i very much enjoyed 50 ways and hope to hear it played in its entirety. page nailed lawnboy. it was kitschy and starry eyed… just like hollyweird. i was fired up to get my first split open and melt and found this version especially gloomy and roomy…just how i like it. many of my friends experienced sweet melts/repeat rage at this show so i will impart some food for thought for the next time they play possum: try to remember what you tell your mother when she asks why you need to see phish so many times. on second though, please email me what you tell your mother and the best answer will get an official PHISH sticker from dry goods.
here’s the hollywood bowl, in so many photos:
we left sanfrancisco at seven am monday and headed south on the 101.
arrived at the comfort inn and suites seven hours later.
found a vegan restaurant, walked to a liquor store.
spent a little time with trey’s friend, herbie.
raged picnic area 10
and headed in. the hollywood bowl is charming and i was happy to run into amy p and alison m, two groovy chicks from los angeles.
seeing fish front and center at the base of the bowl was sui generis. as fish hit the chorus of 50 ways the crowd energy underwent a palpable shift to a plane of groove.here’s a telling photo by Dave Vann.
my pick for show MVP is CK5. he manipulated his light gig in a way that added another physical dimension to the bowl’s lights. from the audience, it appeared as though the band was jamming in a sea of their own energy
just beneath a lurking spaceship.
left los angeles at 7AM the next morning and headed for tahoe. stay tuned.
